Sportscierge – A Personal Take on Sports and Travel Planning
My name is Brendan Holmes and I created sportscierge as a fun way to pass along and communicate with others interested in sports and travel planning. I wanted to create an outlet that combined two of my passions, sports and travel. Since a child, I have had a strong interest in both. Sports, although some say are a waste of time, can teach a person a lot about patience, adversity and team building. Take baseball for example. The game itself requires a player to experience a roller coaster of emotions: highs and lows. This can easily be transferred into everyday life.
The travel planning side of me comes from my desire to explore. I sometimes wonder if there is such a thing as reincarnation, as I must have either Lewis or Clark in me. Most of this blog is related to travel planning for sporting events, but I also include travel tips for families and sports information. I love to use Google Earth to plan my adventures or daydream of the different places that are on my travel list. Or, utilize other web sources such as Trip Advisor to get a sense of what to expect before planning a visit.
Feel free to ask questions about ballparks, what to pack for traveling or off-the-beaten path attractions. Some of the best places I’ve found have taken me down the darkest alleys or required miles and miles of walking or driving. I love to find those attractions that are hidden or that maybe only the locals know about. If I don’t know the answer to a sports or travel planning answer, I should be able to find it.
